This blog is for anyone who feels "abnormal", for those that feel they don't fit the mould, for those that struggle to think clearly, to be accepted, to feel connected emotionally to themselves and to others. This blog is for you. I know about these things, because that's how I feel, and have done for years.
I know now, having worked in the mental health field for the last 15 years and having run a social hub for the last 10, that plenty of other people have these problems too.
I originally set up this blog to evidence the process of PhD I was going to do on these struggles but due to my own struggles becoming overwhelming I decided to put this on hold. Now this blog is a mish mash of previous papers I have written about similar topics and, moving forward, I will use it as a space to discuss and locate different types of literature and topics associated to that liminal space between emotional and social health, or what some might call the psychosocial realm (Frosh, Redman, and others).
Why not pop over to my paper on Mentalism which explores how our culture is making us feel "mental" and explores why it is that we feel we do not fit into what we think is the "norm."
Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think about the topics here and your own lived experience, its so important to me to know how others experience the world.
